August 2011: Congratulations to Dr. Nils-Olov Nilsson . . . His CES doctoral dissertation has been published as a book. Here’s his email to me that came in today:
I want to tell you that I am proud to be your graduate in Sweden; my dissertation on “The Swedish Pentecostal Movement” is now a book and has been received in a marvelous way by different theologians and churches. I'm sending you a link to our most prestigious charismatic newspaper in Scandinavia - Världen idag (The World Today) - where you can see a very positive review of the book.
Here is the link http://www.varldenidag.se/kultur/2011/08/15/Fragetecken-ratas-ut-i-ny-bok-om-svenska-pingstrorelsens-historia/
Even though the review is in Swedish You can see my beautiful face. Have a nice day and God Bless!—Dr. Nils-Olov Nilsson

February 2011: Congratulations to CES graduate, Dan Christensen who recently had his Doctor of Theological Studies with CES approved by the Oregon State Office of Degree Authorization. After graduating from CES, Dr. Christensen began working as a professor at a Bible college in Oregon. However, Oregon has very strict laws related to the professional use of degrees from unaccredited schools. For Dan to be able to use his degree without an accreditation disclaimer, he had to submit his D.T.S. credential to the Oregon State Office of Degree Authorization for their approval. Here's an email that I received from Alan L. Contreras, the Administrator of Office of Degree Authorization regarding CES in general and Dan's D.T.S. in particular:
Rick,
Technically a “section d” review applies only to the degree program being reviewed, so the approval we issued applies to anyone using the same degree in Oregon. The reason for this is, for example, that a school may have good policies and standards for its doctoral programs while having sloppy, inappropriate standards for its bachelor's programs.
That said, I would be astonished if that were the case at your school, so if you have other degree users in Oregon, I would encourage them to apply for section d reviews if they want to.
I should make clear that ALL degrees issued by your college are valid for use in Oregon right now, provided they carry the required disclaimer of accreditation. That is because your college is operating legally under the laws of Washington.
For that reason, what Dan gets by doing the section d review is the legal right to use his degree without the disclaimer, because his degree is now approved by this office.
February 2011: This year CES will hold its Graduation Ceremony in August.
